REVIEWS :

Utopia can Simona Clementoni (The Scream of the magazine's Square Dante Giulianova)

“La vida es sueño” affermava, nel 1635, Pedro Calderón de la Barca , l’ultima gran voce del Siglo de Oro spagnolo. La stessa profonda convinzione, ma sfociante in una visione esistenziale totalmente opposta, sostanzia il percorso pittorico di Luca Dall’Olio, cinquantunenne artista bresciano, diplomatosi all’Accademia di Belle Arti di Milano. Al pessimismo e allo scetticismo di impronta gesuitica del drammaturgo madrileno, che approda al senso della vanità of human activity and resignation, oil opposes an optimistic and progressive, in which no possibility is inaccessible to curious and willing to introspection. There has never resigned his vision. If you are looking for, there is always a way of salvation. Then I, in the deepest respect for what critics have written about him the likes of Vittorio Sgarbi, Luciano Caprile and Gabriele Boni, but apart from them, I'll try to venture into his magical world, trusting only to the evidence that the artist here and disseminates there like the crumbs of Tom Thumb. The securities, illuminating, his works are the first cornerstone of his secret treasure. Trusting in his help, I grab the hand that I silently artist tents and confident, I prepare to follow him. The wonder is what I asked, the ability to free my soul from the rind hardened by custom, by stereotypes, conventions of contemporary living, frantic, deafening and blinding. He invites me to soar on delicate wings of fantasy and dreams, to rediscover the unconscious dimension of my being, to go beyond reality, beyond the senses. But my soul is frightened, my heart fearful resistance. I suffer from dizzy trying to follow him, but he holds his hands, holding me stronger, looks into my eyes and gives me the comforting shelter of her arms. Reassured, but with a pitch still uncertain, opening the door, I enter in her fairy world and let myself be enveloped by magic. My heart expands, the emotions flowing free, unlimited, and my senses burn the veil is finally allowing the tears to my eyes and my intellect to see. It is an epiphanic moment, outside time and space. A breath, I see the wild places of childhood, when I felt I had everything and anything was possible. Ardently wish to continue. I do it on tiptoe to avoid disturbing those "superhuman silences" and "deep calm" that gives me pleasure unknown and a sense of absolute freedom. The artist is now clear, leaving me alone in my progressive down in the depths of the soul, the rediscovery of the motions of the heart, the impulses of desire, the thrill of the senses. What I see is a different world, but I recognize the reality: the pastoral and idyllic, made up of winding hilly slopes covered with lush vegetation of pines, cypress and palm trees. The sky, full of color, dotted with stars burning and shining curls, is reflected in quiet pools surrounded by a soft light and soothing. It is a world still, devoid of any trace of human presence. Yet a human story must have been consumed in those enchanted shores. As reflected in the paths that penetrate gently and harmoniously into the vegetation, the clusters of red-roofed houses that rise to the immensity of the sky and to be free of doors and windows, seem to have imprisoned their inhabitants inside, the architectural flavor that harmonize with the metaphysical landscape. These archaeological remains of ancient civilizations, capitals and columns of Greek temples, domes of eastern battlements of medieval castles or memory. Nostalgic echo of times past when man's work was still genuine, respectful of nature and his inviolable beauty, when life was a human scale and allow stops serenity. Now, stunned by all sorts of noise pollution, alienated by the swirling modern living, the individual, lost emotions, the ability to wonder and to dream, you lose in the search for truth false. The longed-for happiness, as the Holy Grail the knights of old, continues to elude him, evading his most intimate aspirations. It is here, at this stage of impasse, which is part of the saving intervention of the artist, with his impassioned plea to join him there, those great corners of the world where we can color the sky, the sea, hills, houses, castles and towers of the colors of our soul where we can see and believe what we want, because our inner life has no limits or boundaries. Suddenly, I realize that I have found the second key of his chest: the dream, lifeblood of the soul, the way to salvation. The dream, a refuge from ordinary life, gives me pause soothing, always accessible corners of heaven on earth because their genesis is in me. Following the path of the heart, to rediscover the value of the essential and the essential is what is required. This is the truth that the elusive Grail. The artist, who quietly had left me alone in my introspective path, gently reappeared at my side just to confirm, with a smile, the accuracy of my discovery. With calm and gentle ways, with his painting made of warm and passionate, with bright colors that translate the power of imagination and dream, with its representation in-perspective, somewhere between the naturalistic and the surreal, Luca Dall'Olio guided me to the rediscovery of my innermost self, I was able to find the childlike wonder of freshness, the mysterious force the unconscious and the value of imagination as valve flow of daily tensions. Define his painting "dialogical" or "dramatic" in the sense that the absence of human figures in his paintings is matched by the constant presence of a privileged but invisible, marked by the continual contact a "you" (Looking with you, I was thinking of you , Maybe I'll meet you , Here in your dreams) in which I seem to catch a double meaning: on the one side is likely to be a woman, his muse, on the other I would like to see a heartfelt speak with the artist its user. First is the painter who invites him, encourages, motivates him to undertake his inner journey ( We'll be together, we go together , back to you), then the observer is that, in its uncertainty, search reassurance ( still hold me in your hands , 're here with me), she longs for a meeting ( Maybe I'll meet you, few minutes and you'll see ) and then explode in gratitude ( You found me, In tune with you, something to be divided into two ). That "something to be divided in two," what the user will share with the artist, if he manages to meet him, is pleased to be touched and surprised, the ability to dream with open eyes, the certainty that life is a continuous dream , confidence in the possibility of an imminent recovery of man and civilization, if only to know the lessons of the past. all happened tomorrow, else is tomorrow. No could be more explicit statement of these securities. As with the famous image of "Standing on the shoulders of giants" by Francis Bacon, past and present intersect in building the future. We, modern dwarfs, we should take advantage of the experience accumulated by the giants of the past and be more farsighted. We should learn to "switch ... the experiences that we live with all the illusions and dreams extraordinary potential." To progress, civilization has to believe that nothing is unattainable. Looking at the reality with curiosity and eyes uninhibited, filtering it with fantasy and imagination, even Utopia is possible.

"The real purpose of the initiative - explain Marco Di Martino and Livio Rapini , founder of the Cultural Piazza Dante - is identified in the possibility to realize the winner of a prize Venanzo Crocetti - City of Giulianova (prize money), a work of art to be donated to the City of Giulianova and installed as "street furniture" in a square or a roundabout in the same city. "Moreover, the choice of the winner and then a work of art as essential principle of the project, it would be done only by a jury, but the audience also will be involved in the demonstration, which, during the exhibition period (1 to 23 August 2009) and through simple means to vote, will actively participate in their choices of urban cities. The repeated every year, an event like that - still the two curators - may become, as one can easily imagine, a national recall of institutional appointment and preserves the "memory" for all urban fabric. "

Venanzo Crocetti National Award - City of Giulianova

Venanzo Crocetti

Venanzo Crocetti has always had a love-hate relationship with Giulianova (his hometown), with Teramo Abruzzo.

Giulianova his birth on August 3, 1913 and there found "fertile ground" fertile commitment and removal of crosses, despite

the hardships of a life very poor and the mishaps that hit a boy. There was born a bully, is modeled, it

strengthened and grew rapidly his love for art.

The famous Gallina, cast in bronze in 1931, won him, in 1941, the coveted "Premio Verona" to "Show

National animal Art ". Crocetti was imposed immediately to the attention of critics as a great sculptor, and his career

drew impossible with other vertices already at a very young age. At fifteen, he moved to Rome and began a frantic activities

training and research, supported by an iron will, an immense desire to learn and an insatiable greed

of store concepts. On the morning working to the restoration in the Sistine Chapel for some private institutions, in the afternoon

National animal Art". It was a very exciting moment for him. For the opening night wore a

new dress, but when entering the Palazzo delle Esposizioni, he lacked the courage. In 1931 he exhibited in an exhibition

prepared and collective participation in the "National Competition of the Academy of St. Luca "that took place in 1932. I won.

He was only nineteen.

Ferrazzi, che soon introduced him to Ottolenghi, and worked with the great architect Piacentini. The success earned him an invitation

for the Biennale of Venice of 1934, when he performed a huge range of works large and small. In 1934 he participated

the "International Exhibition of Sacred Art" at Valle Giulia and also took part in the XIX Biennale di Venezia. At that time

abandoned the restoration work. In 1936, for the second time, he was invited to the Venice Biennale, he exhibited at the Show

Italian Art in Paris and performed the statue of St. Michael for the town of Aprilia. for the twenty-first Venice Biennale

of 1938 received, for the third time, the invitation to participate with eight works. In 1950 he won the competition for one of the doors

S. Peter to complete in 1966.

In 1956 Professor Cute Gambacorta, newly elected mayor of Teramo, after intense consultation with the organizations

veterans of the city, with citizens and with his staff, decided to provide the city of Monument

to the fallen of all wars. Gambacorta, in the few months of operation as the first city with great dynamism tax

solving important community problems Teramo, forcing a frantic pace to the somnolent bureaucracy

city. The program was presented to the city went ahead with the ambitious and enormous personal sacrifices, but with determination

and decision. Crocetti was already famous in Italy and around the world and won many first prizes. In the city museum of his works were exhibited three very significant: The Lioness , The Lion and the Gazelle Wound . Many collectors had Teramo

his works. In the church of S. Flavian, Giulianova, there is a large crucifix bronze Madonna and

Child marble.

The Knights of Peace , built in 1988, almost twin brother of one of Teramo, in the summer of 1989 he began his journey

to bring a message of peace on three continents: Europe, Asia and America.

In summary this is the ideal plastic in which the sculptor has remained stubbornly faithful during his long and

busy life: an ideal of ethical and aesthetic consciousness is animated by a stubborn hope for a new Humanism. Opera

high quality formal and profound political content, the young Knight of Peace port in the world a message

harmony and brotherhood, which is in the same intentions of its creator that has a clear aim to objectify it as a

saving mission of beauty and love playing the ardent hope of all men, especially at that time in

which is responsible for a disturbing and growing anxiety about the fate of humanity. For this reason the organizing committee of

shows that the trip would start from Hiroshima, a city martyr of World War II, at the commemoration

the 45th anniversary of the explosion of the first atomic bomb. In 1984, with Professor Mario Pomilio and Gianni Letta,

was organized in the halls of the National Library of Rome in the sixteenth-century castle of L'Aquila and in the Museum of S.

accurate expression of his feeling and anthropomorphic. " "Crocetti - Trombadori wrote again - not

is only a fellow traveler of the protagonists of the renewal of that era, is one of them. The protagonist then, along

Martini, Marini and Manzù of renewal as a carrier of new values \u200b\u200band specific poetry in the sculpture. " In 1955

won the competition for teaching at the Academy of Florence, where he moved and executed several sculptures free subject.

In 1957 began the Via Crucis for the new Basilica of St. John Bosco in Rome.

In 1960, the Accademia Nazionale di San Luca, of which he became President for two terms, he organized an exhibition

staff.

In 1967 he performed for the Lateran Basilica, two fountains with deer to melt silver. In 1972, in occasione dell’inaugurazione

to the travel of businessmen from Abruzzo in Canada, organized a solo exhibition in Montreal at the National Institute

Italian Cultural Institute. On that occasion he refused an advantageous offer of a big brand of cigarettes he wanted

match its brand to the exhibitions of the sculptor. In 1975 he exhibited again in Tokyo and Osaka, and participated in the exhibition of

contemporary sculptors in Paris.

In 1977 he visited Japan for the first time the following year he exhibited in Kyoto.

In 1980 he returned again to Japan for the exhibition of reliefs and drawings.

In 1983 he completed the Academy which will be donated to the Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg. In 1989, the 150th anniversary

the birth of the great nineteenth-century sculptor Raffaello romper, his countryman, he participated in shows in his

honor, together with colleagues Mario Ceroli, Peter and Andrea Cascella.

In 1993, for the fourth time he visited Japan where he participated with Girl strolling along the seashore , the

air show Utsukushigahara open and had the honor of starting the solemn events organized for the opening

Museum. Nippon Television Fujnuma met and agreed with him on the organization of the anthology

take in the museums of Yokohama, Shimonoseki and Gumma.

In 1996, the Ministry of Culture Museum Crocetti returned to the Foundation and the works located there. The museum, which has

undergone renovation and retrofitting, will be open to the public in the autumn and will be managed directly

Foundation Crocetti. In 1998 Master Crocetti returned to Japan for the fifth time for the opening of a

traveling retrospective exhibition that was visited by over 50,000 people. In the same year completed, after twenty years of intensive

work, the beautiful port of the Museum Crocetti placed in recent days. In 1998 the project took shape of a work

be placed on the back door of the Cathedral of Teramo. In the spring of 2000, The Annunciation was placed on

rear facade of the Duomo, on the occasion of the celebration of the Jubilee of Abruzzo. It was blessed by the Holy Father

John Paul II, who had for sculptor words of esteem and praise, and because the leg pain that was later forced

to bed, prevented him from walking, was home in his wheelchair mobile. Crocetti was deeply moved

and subsequent days was never tired of telling the emotion he felt and the feeling of peace that had

given the contact of hot hands of the Pope and the charisma that emanated from her figure. The Annunciation was placed on

I Greci chiamavano “psychè: soffio, vital spirit, not just soul. Then he spoke Hon. Antonio Tancredi, President of the Foundation "Venanzo Crocetti" of Rome. "When I arrived Livio Marco and Piazza Dante, I was amazed by their idea: to organize the Award Venanzo Crocetti. I think - said the Hon. Tancredi - that such a proposal could not be supported, happy to have been sent and that it supported, as President of the Foundation that bears his name, this beautiful award from prestige to the city that had given birth. In conclusion, applauded, took the floor to Prof. Vincenzo Centorame (President Award Michetti) , interrupted several times by the audience for having "captured" the large audience present in Piazza Dante Alighieri, a historic square in the heart of the historic giuliese. "The real news is not that represented by the event - said Prof. Centorame - worth of futurism in the celebration of its centenary. The most significant fact is another, outside the bureaucratic ways of thinking and how self-styled professional, a group of private citizens, mostly young men, stirs the stagnant waters of resignation and renunciation that is likely to lead to the loss of the Abruzzo ' cultural identity.

Immediately after the presentation was presented on the theatrical texts from "Parole in Liberta" by Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and titled "The Basics", performed by the Cultural Rogo Theatre who worked with the Theatre Om (Vinderup-Denmark), Factory Theatre ( Buenos Aires-Argentina) and where in 2006 the Unesco Italia ha patrocinato il progetto “Il Carro di Tespi”, realizzato in Patagonia.
